As to what would be the best route from Manila to Digyo Island, there are two (2) possible options:

FIRST ROUTE:
Manila to Tacloban City (by airplane) Tacloban to Municipality of Inopacan, Leyte (by Aircon Van more or less 2 and half (2 ½ ) Hours Travel Time)
Inopacan to Digyo is. (by motor boat / Banca-about 30 minutes ride)

SECOND ROUTE
Manila to cebu (by airplane) cebu to Municipality of Hilongos, Leyte (by boat-overnight at sea) Hilongos to Inopacan (by Motor Vehicle about 16 kms. or 20 mins. ride) Inopacan to Digyo is. (by motor Boat/Banca about 30 minutes ride)

The first route is preferred coz its shorter in terms of travel time, distance & more convenient.

Biophysical setting:

The islands (Cuatro Islas) of Apid (10°32.389; 124° 38.321), Mahaba (10°31.049; 125° 40.189) and Digyo (10°31.796; 124° 39.417) belong to Brgy Apid, Inopacan, Leyte (Fig.1A&B). Apid marine sanctuary (7.2ha) has a narrow reef platform followed by a steep slope; Mahaba marine sanctuary (7.8ha) has a shallow reef of around 100m span from the beach then plunges in a drop off while Digyo marine sanctuary (4.5ha) is characterized by a sloping fringing reef.

There are several beautiful island beaches in the province of Leyte, but one group of islands stand out, and that is the Coatro Islas. There are four isles (Apid, Digyo, Mahaba and Hiumokilan), and these beautiful lands are particularly noted for their smooth sands. Aside from the beautiful beach, there are also plenty of coral reefs in the waters, making them ideal for scuba divers.
